Patrick Ewing's New York Knicks Career Records
Since 1977 Bernie Mermelstein has served as owner and chief executive officer of MZ Berger & Co., a global designer and distributor of fine timepieces. Beyond his professional activities, Bernie Mermelstein enjoys staying in shape by taking spin classes and playing basketball. An avid basketball fan, he has held season tickets for the New York Knicks for more than three decades.
Few players in the history of the New York Knicks franchise have had the impact of Patrick Ewing, who leads the team in 19 major statistical categories. On offense, Ewing made 9,260 field goals, more than any other player. He also sank a franchise record 5,126 free throws and made a career total of 23,665 points, another team high.
As a forward, Ewing also left his mark defensively, collecting 8,191 defensive rebounds and 10,759 total rebounds, which were both franchise records. In addition, he excelled as a shot blocker, and with 2,758 blocks, leads all Knicks players. Overall, Ewing’s 1,039 games and 37,586 minutes played remain an all-time high for a Knicks player.
